Current Characters: Yuri Tsukikage, Momotaros

Character: Setsuna Higashi
Fandom: Fresh Pretty Cure!
Character Notes:
History: Setsuna at the Pretty Cure Wikia.
Personality: Splitting this into two parts, mainly for clarity's sake;

Eas: In her identity as a servant of Lord Moebius, Eas is cold and ruthless. She is willing to do whatever it takes to spread despair and destroy the Precure. While her preferred method of creating Nakewameke, which is fairly straightforward and brute force oriented, would suggest she has no patience for trickery, this is not true. It was her idea to approach Love under the guise of Setsuna Higashi, in a ploy to steal her transformation device.

One thing she does not have patience for is idiocy. While she does give advice to Wester, who’s definitely not the smartest villain ever, it’s very reluctantly. After Wester fails again, she declares giving him advice ‘pointless’. She is also incredibly frustrated by how easily Love trusts her.

Even while on the side of evil, Eas shows fierce loyalty. In this case, it’s to her master, Lord Moebius. She never questions him and wishes to serve him to the point where she care little for herself. Even when suffering intense pain, she keeps fighting.

Slowly but surely, Eas starts to hate Love less and less, as she realizes Love’s feelings are genuine. Rather than in most shows, where this might inspire her to switch sides of her own accord, it scares the hell out of her. She becomes more stubborn each time she meets Love, more determined to defeat the Precure herself, even if it costs her her life.

Setsuna/Cure Passion: After she is reborn as a Precure, Setsuna becomes more quiet and kind. She cares a lot about her new friends, but is often insecure due to her guilt. This is shown often, but is very much evident when she confides in the others that going back to Labyrinth is what she fears the most.

There’s a certain innocence to Setsuna, due to her growing up in a world where no one is allowed to choose anything for themselves. This is already evident when she’s still evil, as she doesn’t even know what a donut or bowling is. It also shows later, when the Precure are accidentally entered into a Comedy Contest instead of a Dance Contest. Setsuna has no idea how the comedy is supposed to work and doesn’t realize that the jokes aren’t serious.

Though she can be confused about how Earth works, she’s still sharp. When Love’s mother is replaced by a monster clone, she realizes this almost immediately, a lot faster than even Love. Once she goes to school, she has little problem with the material and easily solves a difficult math problem on her first day.

She’s very blunt and won’t hesitate to call things as she sees them, which is made clear when she goes shopping with Miki. Rather than blindly praise the other girl, Setsuna is very honest about what she thinks of the clothes Miki picks, without thinking about how she might sound. She has only the best of intentions, of course, wanting only to be completely honest to people.

Above all, Setsuna cares greatly for her friends and is willing to do anything to protect them. When Labyrinth tries to lure her back, Setsuna accepts, but only so she can go to the Sorrow Gauge and destroy it... despite knowing that doing so would mean certain death. Her relationship with Love is especially close. Whether this is a sisterly relationship or something else should be left to the shippers.

Friendship is useless. Nothing can be gained and no time should be wasted on it. You do what you do and feel what you feel because Lord Moebius decides it is best. Worlds where this is not the case are selfish and cruel. The people are two faced and the kindness they show cannot be real.

She’s heard this a thousand times before and she’s never had a reason not to believe it. So there she was, standing in front of the Precure in the guise of Setsuna Higashi, wiping her crocodile tears away. Thanks to Souler’s little joke, she would finally get to know the blonde’s true feelings towards her.

She faked her smile as she assured Love that she was okay, that she really forgave Miki and Inori, and waited. Her real thoughts would come pouring out. If it felt anything like when she had to hide herself as Setsuna, she imagines it must have been killing this girl not to say it.

Love would tell her that she didn’t really trust her. Why would she? Setsuna had been the one to tell her not to see Miyuki anymore, to stop dancing. It was impossible for this girl to not truly hate her. No human can truly trust another. Not even a girl this naive and carefree.

She did her best to hide her smirk as the wings latched onto the Precure’s back. There was the momentary look of confusion... And here it finally was.

“Thank goodness! I’m glad Setsuna forgave them!” She froze. What was she... These couldn’t be her true feelings. No one is that honest! “Setsuna’s a good person! Thanks!”

Those were her... true feelings? That was... impossible. Simply impossible! Could someone truly feel that way about another... Simply on faith?

No! She shook the thoughts out of her head. She would not waver because of this. It was a fluke, that was all... She was there on a mission and she wouldn't leave before she had stolen that transformation device.

Just... Just a fluke.
