I don't really go out into town that often. Sometimes, like today, I'm reminded why that is.



I've seen pictures of some of the ridiculous monsters that attack this town before, but this... This one really takes the cake. Apparently, it was made from a wig. It's special attack was giving people wigs. From what I hear, this was exactly as terrifying as it sounds. That is, not at all.

I really have to wonder how anyone could think this was a good idea. I thought monsters were supposed to look threatening.

Yes. That's how destiny is. Monsters like this one are made to cause chaos and destruction. You can't expect it to be anything other than what it was created to be.

It's just the way things work.

I don't really want to accept that though.. if there's cute monsters out there too, then maybe somehow we can try to make them understand that they don't really have to hurt people, that they can get along with them too!

That's a very nice sentiment. But the world doesn't work that way, I'm very sorry to say. If you actually tried to convince a monster like that to be nicer, you'd only get hurt.

A monster is still a monster, even if it looks cute.

.. But why then..? I mean, if humans can be good or bad depending on a lot of things, then why doesn't the same count for them? Shouldn't we at least give them a chance?

It still attacked the Pretty Cure. It wasn't as harmless as it looked, it just had a silly attack.

It's a nice thought, though. [It's the most ridiculous thing she's ever heard and she wants to argue against it so badly.]

[ She just sighs a little, almost sounding slightly mopey. ]

Why do monsters have to look so cute when they're actually bad..? That's just misleading!

I don't know about monsters on other worlds, but here they just look like the object used to make them. If anything was 'cute', it was the wig used to make the monster.

Besides, wouldn't a misleading appearance just work to its advantage?

But none of the monsters I had to fight looked cute! [ It's so unfair, clearly. ] They were all super freaky and scary, not to mention mean, so it's obvious that those are monsters!

Most of the monsters I've seen don't look cute either. This was just a fluke, I think.

...wait, you fight monsters?

Uh-huh, I do! I fight as the pretty sailor-suited soldier of love and justice, Sailor Moon!

[ Somewhat proudly.. and yes, she just tells people now since most people on the community already know either way. ]

Sailor Moon? So is that anything like the Pretty Cure?

[selene]

Um.. I guess it sort of it? When I first started talking to people here on the community, they were talking about how I was a magical girl just like them! So those Pretty Cure have to be magical girls just like me, right? Just a little different in different worlds!

It sure sounds really similar. I didn't even know there were magical girls other than Pretty Cure. Being a magical girl sounds really difficult, though, so you must be pretty amazing if you are one.

[selene]

A.. a-a.. amazing?! [ She might be blushing a little, actually, but then it just goes over into nervously loud laughter. ]

W-well, nobody's ever told me that before, so I'm not sure! But it's hard work!

I imagine it must be, if you have to fight monsters like that. Do you have a team, like the Precure do?

It's nice to meet you, Setsuna-chan! [ yes, immediately overly familiar.. ] My name's Usagi, Usagi Tsukino! Hehe, it's just as nice to meet you..!

And I guess I'm supposed to have a team? Luna said I have to find my allies, I just haven't yet. It's more difficult than it sounds!
